Manoj Krishna, FRCS
Dr. Krishna, one of the Company's founders, has been Chairman of the Board, Vice President and Secretary since inception of Disc Motion.   Since 1996, Dr. Krishna has been a consultant in spine surgery at the University Hospital of North Tees, in Stockton-on-Tees, UK. Dr. Krishna has had a very successful spine surgery career for ten years in England, where he has developed product development and entrepreneurial expertise, being part of the team leading the development of the Sabre interbody device for Depuy Spine.   Many of the unique and patent pending designs for the TrueDisc-PL and TrueDyne-PDS were a result of the creative collaboration between Dr. Krishna and Dr. Tai Friesem. Dr. Krishna received his Bachelors of Medicine/Bachelors of Surgery (MBBS) from BJ Medical Collegein 1986, affiliated to the University of Pune, in Pune, India; in 1990 his Master of Orthopaedic Surgery (MCh(Orth)) from Liverpool University, England; and in 1996 his FRCS from Royal College of Surgeons of England, in England

Tai Friesem, MD

Dr. Friesem, one of the Company’s founders, has been Treasurer and Director since inception of Disc Motion. Since 2002, Dr Friesem has been a spinal surgeon at the University Hospital of North Tees, in Stockton-on-Tees, UK, and from September 2001 to 2002, Dr. Friesem was a spinal surgeon at the Hadassah Hospital, Jerusalem, Israel.  Dr. Friesem has been involved with the development of the Maverick Disc arthroplasty device, and was involved in a ProDisc clinical trial.
He is an England based spine surgeon, with more than 10 years of operating experience. He travels and lectures widely on Spinal Arthroplasty, and is involved in training surgeons in these surgical techniques.  Dr. Friesem will remain intimately involved in the product development efforts of the Company.  Dr. Friesen received his M.D. from Ben Gurion University of the Negev, Israel

Vijay Goel, PhD

Dr. Goel has been a Director of Disc Motion since January 1, 2006.  Since December 2000, Dr. Goel has been Professor & Chair of the Department of Bioengineering, College of Engineering, University of Toledo, and Professor and director at the Spine Research Center, Department of Orthopedics, Medical College of Ohio, in Toledo.  From 1998 to 2000, Dr, Goel was co-director at the Iowa Spine Research Center. From 1990 to 2000, Dr. Goel was a professor in the Department of Biomedical Engineering, College of Engineering at the University of Iowa. From 1988 to 2000, Dr. Goel was director of Biomechanics Laboratory II. From 1986 to 1990, Dr. Goel was an associate professor for the Department of Biomedical Engineering, College of Engineering at the University of Iowa. Dr. Goel is an international authority on spine biomechanics and three time recipient of the Volvo prize for research on the lumbar spine, awarded through the International Society for the Study of the Lumbar Spine. He is an expert in evaluation of spine constructs and finite element evaluation of spine mechanics under different conditions of load and injury conditions.  Dr. Goel received a B.E. (Mech) Hons. from the Panjabi University, India in 1966, a M.E. (Mech. Design) from the Roorkee University, India in 1971, and a Ph.D. from the University of New South Wales, Australia (Stress Analysis Associated with Total Hip Prosthesis) in 1978.

Jud Carlson

Mr. Carlson has been President, Chief Executive Officer and Director of Disc Motion since January 1, 2006 and now moves to the position of Managing Director From January 2004 to January 2006, Mr. Carlson was president and chief executive officer of Intercept Biomedical Technologies Incorporated, an implantable pain control medical device company, and from October 1999 to January 2004, Mr. Carlson was president and chief executive officer of Mekanika, Inc., a spinal medical device company.  Mr. Carlson has a proven track record of leading start-ups from concept to successful exit, and has spent his entire career in the medical device field.  He began his career with established industry leaders, 3M Medical from 1966 to 1972, and then eight years with Medtronic as a senior sales and marketing executive in their neurosurgery division from 1972 to 1978.  Subsequently, he has been part of the founding team at four spinal device startups, including Advanced Neuromodulation Systems, now part of St. Jude Medical, where he served as president from 1992 to 1998.  He brings a current and global knowledge of the spinal market, including surgeons, distributors, strategy, financial and corporate resources.

Andy Greenberg, President & CEO

Andy Greenberg has joined the company as President & CEO. Andy has been with Link Orthopaedics for the past ten years where one of his many responsiblities was managing the STAR ankle IDE/PMA. The sale of Link Orthopaedics to Small Bone Innovations has recently been announced. While President of Link Orthopaedics, he founded Link Spine Group, co- managed the FDA clinical trials and helped orchestrate the sale of the ChariteTM artificial disc to Depuy Spine.  Andy was also a Director at Cervitech, a cervical disc company, and managed the IDE clinical study of the PCM cervical disc.

Stephen Jones

Mr. Jones, who has served as a company director since July, 2007, is Chairman of the Aspen Capital Group, a diversified financial services firm in Naples, FL.  He also serves as a managing member and general partner of Aspen Select Healthcare, LP, a private equity fund established to make investments in the healthcare industry, and Aspen Opportunity Fund, LP, a diversified private equity fund.  Mr Jones has been a chief financial officer at various public and private companies and was a vice president in the Investment Banking Group at Merrill Lynch & Co.  He received his B.S. degree in computer engineering from the University of Michigan in 1985 and his MBA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania in 1991.  Mr. Jones also serves on the board of NeoGenomics, Inc. (OTC BB: NGNM.OB) and T3 Communications.
